We work with everyday people who are getting older — and with that comes changes to their bodies. Hormones start to shift, and people begin learning how to navigate this new stage of life.
Lower testosterone or estrogen, thyroid issues, and other hormonal imbalances can bring symptoms like low energy, low motivation, brain fog, and more.
Many people don’t know where to turn for answers. Some try hormone therapy or GLP-1 medications. Others turn to nutrition and exercise.
Some think hormone therapy or GLP-1s are “cheating” — whatever that means. But this isn’t a competition. We don’t see it that way. For many people, these can be helpful tools to bridge the gap while working toward long-term lifestyle change.
At CrossFit Electrica, we specialize in the nutrition and exercise side of things. We know that chronic inflammation can throw your entire system out of balance. Eating whole, unprocessed foods, moving your body daily, and getting proper rest are key to feeling your best.
The problem? Most of us don’t do that. We eat processed foods, enjoy sugary treats, live off coffee with added sugar, stay up late scrolling our phones, get only five hours of poor sleep, and rely on energy drinks to push through the day. It’s a vicious cycle that wrecks our health and hormones.
Change isn’t easy — and that’s a sentence most people don’t like to hear. But it’s worth it. You’re worth it. Give yourself the chance to feel great again. Go for a walk today. Put your phone away an hour before bed. Choose real, fresh, nutritious foods. You may not feel different right away, but give it a week and you’ll notice it. Give it a month and others will notice. Keep it up for a year, and you’ll be a completely different person.
Getting older and learning to navigate your body’s changes can be challenging, but there’s hope. Control what you can control. Say yes to the things that help you become the person you want to be — and no to the things that pull you away from that.
You can do this.
