Being strong isn’t just cool, it’s necessary. We all need strength for different reasons. For moms, they must be strong to raise children. Dad’s need to be strong to protect their family. Firemen must be strong to save lives. Our grandparents need to be strong to live more independent lives and maximize their quality of life. Athletes must be strong to excel in their sport. You get the idea. You could probably come up with hundreds of reasons why being strong would help you in life.
How do we get strong?
In a very simple way, through exposure and adaptation. In the gym it looks like this: We stress our bodies through physical activity. That’s the exposure part. Then we rest, eat food, and sleep. That’s the adaptation part. Do this for an extended period of time and in the right quantities and boom. You’re stronger.
Do clients at Electrica Fitness Club get stronger?
Absolutely!
Just recently we had goal reviews with clients who have gained 3 or more pounds of muscle in 3 months. The InBody scan shows it and they physically are capable of doing more in the gym. We constantly have clients setting personal records on different lifting exercises.
It’s one of the coolest things to see in our gym!
What are the benefits of getting stronger?
I’m glad you asked.
A big one is confidence. Knowing that you are physically capable of doing whatever life may throw at you. Joint Pain. Many people who struggle with joint pain find relief after getting stronger because they have improved the stability around the joint. Metabolism. More muscle means your body must burn more calories which means burning that extra fat gets a tiny bit easier. Longevity. Getting stronger doesn’t get easier the older you get. Starting now creates a buffer for you to live a more functional life as you get closer to your senior years. That way you can continue doing the things you love for a longer time.
